The Wildebeest Migration and Calving in the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara
In the Southern Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation areas in Tanzania during February each year one of the most spectacular wildlife events occurs when the wildebeest begin massing, and swell to almost 1.8 million in numbers, on the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu Plains. This is the beginning of a 9-month pilgrimage, over a distance of up to 2,500 kilometres, which these animals undertake every year.
